The world’s largest Internet company Google disclosed to reporters the work, Google will enter the second half of 2011 the Chinese Ebook market.December 6, 2010, Google e-book (eBookstore) official on-line in the U.S. market is expected Q1 2011 e-book sales will expand into markets outside the United States. China is Asia’s most promising consumer market e-books, Google will be the second half of the Chinese market.
According to Google, official statistics, as of December 2010, Google e-book provides about 300 million books, including since 2004 as part of the global library of free books scanned. Have included Random House, Macmillan, etc. more than 4,000 publishers to cooperate with Google.

The most useful tool I’ve found for reducing my grocery costs is to keep a “price book.” I first heard about the idea from Amy Dacyzn (pronounced “decision”), author of the Tightwad Gazette. She went from rags to riches (she has 6 kids, too!) by being a tightwad. So no, she’s not writing her gazette anymore, she’s probably getting a professional massage or is in the hot tub (I would hope), but the newsletters were compiled and released into three books and you can probably find them at your library. They are also now in one volume called, The Complete Tightwad Gazette.

Anyway, the price book was invaluable, and it is something you make yourself and it’s FREE! I found I only need about 20 pieces of paper in a small notebook. It has to be small because I want it to fit in my purse so that I always have it with me.

You can organize yours any way that makes sense to you, but I wrote at the tops of my pages:

Notes (This is where I write the key to my shorthand abbreviations, how many cups of flour are in a 5 pound bag, etc.)

Beans
Beverages
Dairy
Fruit
Grains
Herbs & Spices
Meat & Fish
Nuts
Oils, Butter, etc.
Vegetables
Misc.
Cleaners (& shampoo, etc.)
Paper and Plastic Products (& foil, tampons, etc)

So to start, set up your book at home and pull out any grocery tapes you have. This will only take you half an hour at most. It will take you a few weeks to get your price book rolling, but then after that it will be a lot less work, and it’s really not a lot of work to begin with.

For each item you typically buy, you want to write in pencil on a horizontal line in your book:

Item / a letter code for the store you buy it at / the weight, amount or volume / price / and then I like to add a one letter code, R for regular price, S for sale price and C for clearance price, and actually it’s also not a bad idea to put the date if you have room on your page.

Early life

Bradley was born on July 28, 1943 in Crystal City, Missouri, the only child of Warren, a banker, and Susan “Susie” (ne Crowe) Bradley (d. 1995), a teacher. Politicians and politics were standard dinner-table topics in Bradley’s childhood, and he described his father as a “solid Republican” who was an elector for Thomas E. Dewey in the 1948 presidential election.

He began playing basketball in fourth grade. He was a basketball star at Crystal City High School, where he scored 3,068 points in his scholastic career, and was twice named All-American. He received 75 college scholarship offers, although he applied to only five schools.

Bradley’s basketball ability was enhanced by his unusually wide peripheral vision, which he worked to improve by focusing on faraway objects while walking. During his high school years, Bradley maintained a rigorous practice schedule, a habit he carried through college. He would work on the court for “three and a half hours every day after school, nine to five on Saturday, one-thirty to five on Sunday, and, in the summer, about three hours a day. He put ten pounds of lead slivers in his sneakers, set up chairs as opponents and dribbled in a slalom fashion around them, and wore eyeglass frames that had a piece of cardboard taped to them so that he could not see the floor, for a good dribbler never looks at the ball.”

Playing at Princeton, 1964

Considered the top high school player in the country, Bradley initially chose to attend Duke University in the fall of 1961. However, after breaking his foot in the summer of 1961 during a baseball game and thinking about his college decision outside of basketball, he decided to enroll at Princeton University instead. He had been awarded a scholarship at Duke, but not at Princeton (the Ivy League does not allow its members to award athletic scholarships). In his freshman year at Princeton, Bradley averaged more than 30 points per game for the freshman team, and at one point during his freshman season, he made 57 consecutive free throws. The following year, as a sophomore, he was a varsity starter, in Butch van Breda Kolff’s first year as the Princeton coach.

Bradley was named to The Sporting News All-American first team in early 1963, in his sophomore year, and the coach of the St. Louis Hawks believed he was ready to play professional basketball at that point. The AP and United Press International polls both put Bradley on the second team, establishing him as the top sophomore player in the country. The following year, as a junior, The Sporting News again named him to its All-American team (the only junior) and additionally named him player of the year.

At the Olympic basketball trials in April 1964, Bradley played guard instead of his usual forward position, and was still a top performer at the trials. He was chosen unanimously for the Olympic team and was also elected captain of the Princeton basketball team for the following season. The Olympic team went on to win its sixth consecutive gold medal.

In total, Bradley scored 2,503 points at Princeton, averaging 30.2 points per game. He was awarded the 1965 James E. Sullivan Award, presented annually to the United States’ top amateur athlete, the first basketball player to win the honor, and the second Princeton student to win the award, after runner Bill Bonthron in 1934.

Bradley holds a number of Ivy League career records, including total and average points (1,253/29.83, respectively), and free throws made and attempted (409/468, 87.4%). Ivy League season records he holds similarly include total and average points (464/33.14, 1964) and most free throws made (153 in 170 attempts, 90.0%, 1962-1963). He also holds the career point record at Princeton and many other school records, including the top ten slots in the category of total points scored in a game.

Bradley wrote his senior thesis at Princeton about Harry S. Truman, titled “On That Record I Stand”. He graduated with honors and was awarded a Rhodes Scholarship at Worcester College, University of Oxford. Bradley’s tenure at Princeton was the subject of Pulitzer Prize-winning author John McPhee’s first book, A Sense of Where You Are.

Bradley’s graduation year, 1965, was the last year that the NBA’s territorial rule was in effect, which gave professional teams first rights to draft players who attended college within 50 miles of the team. The New York Knicks drafted Bradley as a territorial pick the 1965 draft, but he did not sign a contract with the team immediately. While attending Oxford, he played professional basketball briefly in Italy’s Lega Basket Serie A for Olimpia Milano (196566 season), where the team won a European Champions Cup. He signed a contract with the Knicks in April 1967, and was to join the team mid-season, after serving six months in the United States Air Force Reserve. He was released from the military earlier than he had expected, and began practicing with the Knicks in December.

In Bradley’s rookie season, he joined the team late, having also missed the entire preseason. He was placed in the back court, although he had spent his high school and college careers as a forward. Both he and the team did not do well, and in the following season, he was returned to the forward slot. Then, in his third season, the Knicks won their first-ever NBA championship, followed by the second in the 197273 season, when he made the only All-Star Game appearance of his career. Over ten years with the Knicks, Bradley scored a total of 9,217 points, an average of 12.4 points per game, with his best season average being 16.1 points per game in the 197273 season. He was also the first player to win an Olympic gold medal, a European Champions Cup, and an NBA championship, a feat that has only been matched by Manu Ginbili.

During his NBA career, Bradley used his fame on the court to explore social as well as political issues, meeting with journalists, government officials, academics, businesspeople, and social activists. He also worked as an assistant to the director of the Office of Economic Opportunity in Washington, D.C., and as a teacher in the street academies of Harlem. In 1976, he also became an author by publishing Life on the Run. Using a 20-day stretch of time during one season as the main focus of the book, he chronicled his experiences in the NBA and the people he met along the way. He noted in the book that he had initially signed only a four-year contract, and that he was uncomfortable using his celebrity status to earn extra money endorsing products as other players did.

Retiring from basketball in 1977, he was elected to the Basketball Hall of Fame in 1982, along with teammate Dave DeBusschere. In 1984, the Knicks retired his number 24 jersey; he was the fourth player so honored by the Knicks, after Willis Reed, Walt Frazier, and DeBusschere.

Politics

Politics were a frequent subject of discussion in the Bradley household, and some of his relatives held local and county political offices. He majored in history at Princeton, and was present in the Senate chamber when the Civil Rights Act of 1964 was passed. He spent his time at Oxford focusing on European political and economic history. In 1978, he said that congressman Mo Udall, himself a former professional basketball player, had told him ten years earlier that professional sports could help prepare him for politics, depending on what he did with his non-playing time.

Senate

After four years of political campaigning for Democratic candidates around New Jersey, Bradley decided in the summer of 1977 to run for the Senate himself. He felt his time had been well-spent in “paying his dues”. The seat was held by liberal Republican and four-term incumbent Clifford P. Case. Case lost the primary election to anti-tax conservative Jeffrey Bell, who, like Bradley, was 34 years old as the campaign season began. Bradley won the seat in the general election with about 56 percent of the vote. During the campaign, Yale football player John Spagnola was Bradley’s bodyguard and driver.

In the Senate, Bradley acquired a reputation for being somewhat aloof and was thought of as a “policy wonk”, specializing in complex reform initiatives. Among these was the 1986 overhaul of the federal tax code, co-sponsored with Dick Gephardt, which reduced the tax rate schedule to just two brackets, 15 percent and 28 percent, and eliminated many kinds of deductions. Domestic policy initiatives that Bradley led or was associated with included: reform of child support enforcement; legislation concerning lead-related children’s health problems; the Earned Income Tax Credit; campaign finance reform; a re-apportioning of California water rights; and federal budget reform to reduce the deficit, which included, in 1981, supporting Reagan’s spending cuts but opposing his parallel tax cut package, one of only three senators to take this position. He sponsored the Freedom Support Act, an exchange program between the republics of the former Soviet Union and the United States.

Bradley was re-elected in 1984 with 65 percent of the vote against Montclair mayor Mary V. Mochary. In 1988, he was encouraged to seek the Democratic nomination for President, but he declined to enter the race, saying that he would know when he was ready. In 1990, a controversy over a state income tax increasen which he refused to take a positionurned his once-obscure rival for the Senate, Christine Todd Whitman, into a viable candidate, and Bradley won by only a slim margin. In 1995, he announced he would not to run for re-election, publicly declaring American politics “broken.”

While he was a senator, Bradley walked the beaches from Cape May to Sandy Hook, a four-day, 127-mile trip each Labor Day weekend, to assess beach and ocean conditions and talk with constituents.

Following the 1990/91 revelations of Izvestiaconcerning the downing of Korean Air Lines Flight 007, Bill Bradley, along with Carl Levin, Sam Nunn and Ted Kennedy wrote to the Soviet President, Mikhail Gorbachev requesting information about the flight.. Afterwards, on December 10. 1991, Senator Jesse Helms, at that time ranking member of the minority staff of the Committee on Foreign Relations pressed the matter with Boris Yeltsin. The Russian Federation’s 1992 handing over the long concealed and denied Black Box and tapes, together with the Soviet military communications of the shootdown, might well have been the results of these senatorial attempts for more information, beginning with Senator Bradley and the others.

Presidential candidate

Bradley ran in the 2000 presidential primaries, opposing incumbent Vice President Al Gore for his party’s nomination. Bradley campaigned as the liberal alternative to Gore, taking positions to the left of Gore on a number of issues, including universal health care, gun control, and campaign finance reform. On the issue of taxes, Bradley trumpeted his sponsorship of the Tax Reform Act of 1986, which had significantly cut tax rates while abolishing dozens of loopholes. He voiced his belief that the best possible tax code would be one with low rates and no loopholes, but he refused to rule out the idea of raising taxes to pay for his health care program, calling the idea of such a pledge “dishonest”.

On public education, he proposed to make over $2 billion in block grants available to each state every year. He further promised to bring 60,000 new teachers into the education system in hard-to-staff areas over ten years by offering college scholarships to anyone who agreed to become a teacher after graduating; Gore offered a similar proposal.

Bradley also made child poverty a significant issue in his campaign. He promised to address the minimum wage, expand the Earned Income Tax Credit, allow single parents on welfare to keep their child support payments, make the Dependent Care Tax Credit refundable, build support homes for pregnant teenagers, enroll 400,000 more children in Head Start, and increase the availability of food stamps.

Although Gore was considered the party favorite, Bradley received a number of high-profile endorsements, including senators Paul Wellstone, Bob Kerrey, and Daniel Patrick Moynihan; former Secretary of Labor Robert Reich; former New York City mayor Ed Koch; former Federal Reserve chairman Paul Volcker; and basketball stars Michael Jordan and Phil Jackson. Bradley and Jackson have been close friends since they were teammates playing for the New York Knicks. Jackson was a vocal supporter of Bradley’s run for the presidency and often wore his campaign button in public. He announced his acceptance of the position of head coach of the Los Angeles Lakers while Bradley was campaigning in California in 1999, and he was a “regular draw on the Bradley money trail” during the campaign. Bradley later called it a “great honor” to be the presenter when Jackson was inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame in 2007.

In March 2000, after failing to win any of the first 20 primaries and caucuses in the election process, Bradley withdrew his campaign and endorsed Gore; he ruled out the idea of running as the vice-presidential candidate and did not answer questions about possible future runs for the presidency. He said that he would continue to speak out regarding his brand of politics, calling for campaign finance reform, gun control, and increased health care insurance.

Recent years

Later in 2000, Bradley was offered the chairmanship of the United States Olympic Committee, which he turned down. In September 2002, Bradley turned down a request from New Jersey Democrats to replace Robert Torricelli on the ballot for his old Senate seat, which another former senator, Frank Lautenberg, accepted. Oxford University awarded Bradley an honorary Doctor of Civil Law (DCL) in 2003, with a citation that described him in part as “..an outstandingly distinguished athlete, a weighty pillar of the Senate, and still a powerful advocate of the weak…”. An Eagle Scout as a boy, Bradley was awarded the Distinguished Eagle Scout Award. This award is given in recognition of community service more than 25 years after a scout first earns the Eagle badge.

In January 2004, Bradley and Gore both endorsed Howard Dean for President in the 2004 Democratic primaries. In January 2008, Bradley announced that he was supporting Barack Obama in the 2008 Democratic primary. He campaigned for Obama and appeared on political news shows as a surrogate. Bradley’s name was mentioned as a possible replacement for Tom Daschle as nominee for Secretary of Health and Human Services in the Obama administration after Daschle withdrew from consideration; the position went to Kansas governor Kathleen Sebelius.

He has worked as a corporate consultant and investment banker. He has been a managing director of Allen & Company LLC, since 2001, and is a member of the board of directors of Starbucks and private company Raydiance. Bill Bradley is also a board member of DonorsChoose.org, an online charity that connects individuals to classrooms in need.

Personal

Bradley married Ernestine (ne Misslbeck) Schlant, a German-born professor of comparative literature, in 1974. She has a daughter, Stephanie, from a previous marriage, and they have one daughter, Theresa Anne.

Book design is more relevant that one can think. When one says “Don’t judge a book by its cover,” the phrase should only be taken in the context of not judging a person by looks or physical appearance. However, when it comes to books themselves, it is quite natural to judge a book based on its entire packaging. This is the reason why book design is important.
Book design is defined as the art of incorporating not only the design, format and style but also the content and sequence of the components of a book to an organized whole. Hence, when one speaks of book design, one is not merely taking about the front and back cover; it entails everything about the entire book. It is true that the front cover is quite important; after all, a book is identified by its cover, as it indicates the title and the author.

Designing photo book needs a certain skill. It needs certain software such as picture editing software. Instead, you can also use publishing application such as Microsoft office Publisher. The back cover is also part of the design; it usually contains the summary or description of the book. There are also times when it contains the author’s brief biography, or quotes from people or organizations praising the book.
The one thing seemingly overlooked in book design is the spine. What many people do not know is that the spine is an important element in cover design, just like a book’s front cover. The spine is the vertical edge of a book as it stands on a bookshelf. When books are placed vertically or stacked up horizontally in a shelf, the spine is the only visible surface that contains relevant information about the book, such as the title, author and publisher. Indeed, it is a very crucial part of book design.

Globally, hardbound books are released mostly ahead of popular paperback editions by major publishers. They do so to maximize their profits as these hardbound books are priced quite steep in comparison to the popular Paperbacks. However, in certain cases, they do release in mass market paperback editions; in cases where the paperbacks are by renowned authors like Jeffery Archer or John Grisham or Sidney Sheldon, whose books are the most sought after the world over in huge volumes. And yet their profits remain the same as found on the sales of hardbound books.

Internationally, new books are priced very high in comparison to the third world countries like India, where they are priced at half or even lesser rates comparatively. In spite of this, people in India prefer to wait for a paperback edition of a book for a few months because they are cheaper. This demonstrates the consumer psychology behind buying books. They don’t consider books a highly essential commodity and so books maintain low priority on perceived shopping needs’ list of a consumer. Customers belonging to the higher middle class & above visit a bookstore for an experience of world class books’ shopping.

India has a growing middle class population, with the largest English speaking customers who aspire to buy good books but are hesitant to buy them at MRP from Bookstore Chains due to budgets constraints. This is where online bookstores come as a respite for such value-for-money hunters. Online book stores offer to its Indian customers, a wide assortment of good quality used books imported from the U.K. To cater to the demand of good quality used books here in India, books are brought from UK. Book readers in U.K generally tend to handle books with care. Later, these books are sold off as second-hand books or used books. The quality remains superior in comparison to a book handled by an average Indian book reader.

Moreover, in India, used books sold off in flea markets or off the pavements, are re-sold manifold by the street vendors which means more wear and tear. Hence, it makes sense in buying good quality used books imported from the U.K – sparingly used and sold at 80% discount, as compared to new books. Then, why buy a new book at 20 – 30% discount when you can get the same but used at only 20% of the actual price? There are a few online book stores that offer used books on par with new books mostly sold by vendors charging exorbitant rates. They have a hand-picked range of selected best-selling authors for a better reading experience; all at affordable rates for its esteemed customers.

Buy more to build your own library by collecting best-selling used books at only a fraction of the price of new copies. Wish you all bookworms out there a very happy collecting & reading this Summer.

Today there is no question that an author should promote their books, even they offer as cheap books, but how aggressively one should go about it. The sad truth is that publishers often fail to promote books, and if we, the authors do not promote your own book thus becomes a life between butter and yogurt could be determined.
What are you doing? You can not prepare, usually in order to promote the book. This method has drawbacks, of course, because every product is different and requires a specific approach. Thus, the most important thing to do consider your audience.

The book is probably aimed at a particular market or markets. Perhaps nutrition, education, health, travel, mystery fans, or nature. The first thing to do in the magazines of people who read your book is read track.

But before you a press release for publication please take the time to find the editor of the books or on the subject you wrote about ratings.

Much of the promotion of your book is to encourage you and assure you that your name, your audience can be seen. Although you can not have received the cult-status, you can go a long way to establish an expert on your subject, as he is deeply involved in society, as you type. For mark you and your work as follows:
Create Your Website – Websites are essentially marketing tools for authors and a large map. Create provides a cheap books website that value, to know your audience and leave it to us, you and your work. Advice and tips more people they can not be found in the book, update any outdated information and provide news and reviews of books and news, as you know in the community. If you are really ambitious, you can create your own community around your site.
Exhibitions – The fairs are an ideal place to promote your book. Each participant and speaker is a potential buyer book. Try to negotiate with your publisher to do a book signing, either at their booth or in the bookstore. Many authors sell thousands of their books in a single exhibition. If you find the opportunity to speak in an exhibition or invited to speak at one of the panels, the best bet to choose. In addition to being a great book advertising is another way to get your name out there in society.
Education – The lesson is a good way to develop your teaching. It is also a good way to understand how people learn about technology, what do you improve the most frequently asked questions, the best ways to get your books, so they are easier to understand. If you are not interested in teaching at the local university or community college, you can teach online. There are many online training company looking for authors to teach their subjects. Most authors found that learning should be fun, profitable, and something you can write almost the same time books are done.
Newsletters – Electronic newsletters are a great direct marketing tool. Although much work, so that it can lead to recognition and huge royalties from book sales checks names. Several authors have had great success with their newsletters, e-mail, amounting to thousands of participants. A good example is the philosophy kabalarien newsletter.
Consulting / Training – Many publishers are only looking for trainers or consultants to author of books on specific topics. Becoming an expert in the local population is known, you need to date, what to keep the state of the art. It is good to diversify if you can – if you focus solely on writing books, you may be in line with the latest advances. Consulting will keep you on edge. Also, if you’re lucky, the company or companies which would like to belong to buy a copy of your book for all employees.
Examiners – Positive book reviews are always a good way to sell books. byline Watch reviews in magazines and newspapers, book and coordinate particular you have with your publisher to ensure that the examiner with a copy of your book early. Comments on Amazon is easy to see through and not much to see for the reputation of a writer, but if you e-mail from a real drive getting positive specific comments could ask him to send their comments on Amazon.
Journal Article -article has long been a good book promoters. The main scientific journals on your topic in print and online sharing and tangential story ideas book about you. You should also writing some great sites that serve your topic. Often, you can add your book (ask your editor for permission) on popular Web sites that are promoting your book appear simultaneously.
News Groups and Forums – Newsgroups are an important part of any community in those days. By participating online, you get your name in the community, monitoring the latest developments and make contacts that may include critical reviews of books, magazines, book publishers and experts, the real technology. Newsgroups on the Internet, including chat and message forums exclusive services such as AOL and CompuServe, are good places to publish and promote your books, your website and your career. Many writers have played an important role in newsgroups, in particular, scripts and web programming area. It is important to be helpful, answer questions and demonstrate your books without pressure or obnoxiously available. When you spam newsgroups or forums not served in the long term.
More PR Resources – You can find more information on marketing and promoting your book by John Kremer’s Book Market the site. John is the author of 1001 Ways to promote your book.
An excellent resource for adding advertising to online publications is Art.com. They offer free banner and you can add to your website. Advertisers pay per click and receive a percentage of what the advertiser pays. It is a great way to get extra revenue from your books out-of-print or generate additional hardware on your site.

An interesting way to promote your book, put your site on search engines such as Yahoo! Yahoo usually takes a day to update the newly added pages, but there is no absolute certainty that your site will be built.

They may also be expert at About.com, which is a wonderful way to promote your work, register offers.

Last but not least, a little philanthropy with a big heart and give your books for free from the critics, friends and family. You too can your URL in all outgoing e-mails and correspondence. Several mails, of course, means more impressions for your book!

Typically independent freelance book authors & self-publishers have a difficult time competing for “shelf-space” with the big book publishing companies on Amazon.com. We can all agree that Amazon has made self-publishing a viable income generator for self-published authors and publishers, but getting your book to show up high enough in the search results on Amazon is often far more difficult than actually writing the book was. The other big problem for authors and self-publishers is that even if a prospective book buyer finds your book on Amazon, they may be a bit timid about buying a book that no (or very few) people have been so inspired by, as to write a good review for it. This might be tough to swallow, but that’s actually not the worst scenario. The worst scenario is that someone did take the time to write a review for your self-published book, but they gave it a one-star rating. I can tell you with no reservations whatsoever that having a negative review is far worse than having no reviews at all. No one knows the credentials of the person that gives your book a negative review on Amazon because he can be completely anonymous. He doesn’t have to reveal his credentials. He doesn’t even have to prove that he actually even read your book. This is exactly the point; if this one guy doesn’t like your book, that’s fine. You obviously can’t please everyone, but his one negative review of your book on Amazon can stop all your sales if it’s the only review you have! At some point we have to decide that business is business, and stop playing by their rules. After all, we didn’t make these rules. In fact, we never even agreed to play by their rules. I’d bet every cent I’ve ever earned that Jeff Bezos wasn’t caring about “the rules” when, via Amazon, he put every mom & pop bookstore on the planet out of business. I’d also bet every cent I’ve ever earned that a huge percentage of the reviews written for the “big authors” are placed there on Amazon by the paid employees of their big book publishers. How many times have you seen tons of reviews posted on Amazon for a book that hasn’t even been published yet? I’m always on the look-out for such things, so maybe I’ve seen it more than you have, but I’m telling you, it happens constantly. I used to think that Amazon book reviews were a good thing, but over the course of the last few years I’ve figured out that Amazon book reviews are just one more tool the “haves” use to keep the little guys from competing. They pretend that the book reviews on Amazon are honorable, when in fact, they are just another sales ploy. And the evil genius of them is that not only does the average book buyer on Amazon think the book reviews are all real, but independent book authors and self-publishers think those Amazon book reviews are real too! The “big authors” and “big publishers” make their money. Amazon makes their money. But how much do we self-published authors make? We pay their fees and commissions. Not only do we pay their fees, but we provide content for their website free of charge. Companies that sell their services to self-publishers hoping to sell their books on Amazon are in the business of convincing writers and self-published authors that they can compete with the big publishers for book sales on Amazon. I’ll bet they make a lot of money from selling most of us proof-copies, maybe even more than they do from the actual sales of our books. It’s a classic sales ploy. Our self-published books (with very few customer reviews) make their “big books” look more appealing. Businesses have been using this trick forever. The human brain is “programmed” to make comparisons. Nothing has value until you compare it to something else. That Caesar salad you just ordered may seem great until the lady sitting at the table next to you gets her filet mignon delivered to her table. And your self-published book might look great until the prospective book buyer spots a different one with a bunch of good positive reviews posted for it. We self-published authors need to understand that business is business. Selling books is very competitive. It’s dog-eat-dog. Jeff Bezos doesn’t care one lick about us. He just wants his investors to be happy. Why play by the competition’s rules? When you finally get to the point where you understand that Amazon book reviews are a sham (a sales tool just like all the other sales tools big businesses use), that’s when you’ll start selling more of your self-published books, because you’ll stop feeling guilty about getting book reviews any way you can. If they don’t even play by the rules they try to force onto us, then we shouldn’t feel guilty about not playing by them either. If they can use their financial influence to get book reviews, then why can’t we? Typically self-published authors care much more about what they write than they do about “sales”, and if that’s your situation, then, how many books you sell, probably doesn’t matter all that much to you. After all, if your goal is simply to spread your message or tell your story, you could easily sell your books for a very reduced price or even give them away for free. But if your goal is to make some actual money from your writing skills, then you may want to consider starting to think like a business owner (as opposed to an artist). Business owners don’t care one tiny little bit what “rules” other businesses “suggest” they follow. You have no obligation (moral or otherwise) to play by “their rules”. (For the moment at least) This is still a FREE country. Don’t let those currently holding the power “guilt” you into playing by “their rules” –that they set up to keep you down. And thus, to conclude; the way that you get Fast & Easy Amazon Book Reviews (as this article title suggests) is to stop sitting around hoping that someone will like your book and then go to Amazon and post a good review for it. You need to actively pursue getting reviews just like you would actively pursue any other business endeavor, like getting advertising or getting sales. You need to be relentless and business-like. Get reviews any way you possibly can. Call on friends, family, online-friends, or even companies that provide such services (they do exist) to post reviews for your business’s product (your book). Getting book reviews posted on Amazon is actually a lot faster, cheaper, and easier than you might think. The only thing that’s really holding you back is that fear that maybe you’re doing something wrong. That fear is what separates authors that self-publish for fun, and authors that self-publish to make some real money selling their books on Amazon. Get creative. That’s what great artists do isn’t it?
